Scope

GB/T 30764-2014 is the English-translated version of 雄蜂蛹.

GB/T 30764-2014 is the Chinese national standard for drone pupae, the male honeybee pupae harvested as food and as a raw material.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of male pupae, requirements, test methods, packaging, labeling, storage, transportation.

This standard applies to Apis mellifera (Apismellifera) male pupae of production and trade.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Drone pupa

Queen unfertilized eggs in drone property, the worker bees hatch and nurture the growth and development into a pupa.

3.2 Production of drone pupae

Queen induce unfertilized eggs in drone property by worker bees hatch and nurture the growth and development to become pupa, and timely harvesting process.

4 Requirements

4.1 Basic requirements

It should be collected 19 days to 21 days (from the date of spawning) of pupa below -18 °C cryopreservation.

4.2 Sensory requirements

The sensory requirements should meet the requirements of Table 1.
