1 Scope
This standard defines the terms metallography and metallographic examination and related fields, mainly covering the optical microscopy, micro indentation hardness testing
Test, sample preparation, X- ray and electron metallography, quantitative metallography, microscopic photography, grain size and determination of inclusion content etc. Metallography
Proper nouns widely used in the field.
This standard applies to the field of metallography in research, production, testing, teaching, publishing, preparation of standards and scientific and technological exchanges at home and abroad.
2 Terms and definitions
2.1 term basis
2.1.1 GP zone Guinier-Prestonzones
Al-Cu alloy natural aging and low temperature (150 °C) artificially aged copper atoms forming the segregation area.
2.1.2
alpha iron alphairon
At 921 °C or less stable, body-centered cubic crystal structure of pure iron.
2.1.3
alpha copper alphabrass
One or more alloying elements in solid solution in the copper, the copper has the same crystal lattice of the solid solution phase.
2.1.4
beta structure betastructure
Structurally similar to a body-centered cubic structure phase (beta brass and similar) or with 3/2 electron concentration of binary compounds.
2.1.5
gamma iron gammairon
At 910 °C ~ 1400 °C stable, face-centered cubic crystal structure of iron, non-magnetic solid phase.
2.1.6
delta iron deltairon
In 1400 °C ~ 1539 °C stable, body-centered cubic crystal lattice structure of pure iron, the solid phase.
Note. Strictly speaking, delta alpha iron and iron without distinction, but the presence of different temperature ranges.
2.1.7
delta ferrite deltaferrite
delta iron solid solution alloying elements.
Note. The small amount of carbon and a lot of other alloying elements on high and low temperature critical balance of delta ferrite great.
2.1.8
epsilonepsilon
Transition metal alloy system found metal - metal solid solution, the metal - nonmetal mixture.
NOTE. For example, Fe3Mo2, FeSi, Fe3P.
