Scope
GB/T 29282-2024 is the English-translated version of 格拉辛纸.
GB/T 29282-2024 is the Chinese product standard for glassine paper: the dense, translucent, supercalendered paper used above all as the release liner behind self-adhesive labels, and also for food wrapping, envelope windows and interleaving. Its properties come from the beating and calendering rather than from a coating, which makes it a paper whose quality is set almost entirely in the process. The standard sets the classification and grades, the requirements on grammage and its variation, thickness, density, smoothness, transparency, air permeance, which is what determines whether silicone will hold on the surface rather than soak into the sheet, tensile and tear strength, moisture content, ash and pH, the requirements on the appearance and the freedom from holes and specks, and where the paper is used for food contact the corresponding hygiene requirements, together with the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage. The 2024 edition replaces GB/T 29282-2012. For a mill, a siliconiser or a label converter in China, this is the acceptance text.

b) The quantitative specifications have been changed (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2012 edition);
c) Added thickness deviation, roughness index and test method (see Table 1,
d) The tear resistance (transverse), tensile strength, transparency and dust index requirements have been changed (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2012 edition);
e) The bonding requirements for product joints have been changed (see 5.5,
4.2.4 of the.2012 edition);
f) The brightness (whiteness) index and test method have been deleted (see Table 1 and
5.8 of the.2012 edition);
g) The oil absorption (IGT method) index and test method have been deleted (see Table 1 and Appendix A of the.2012 edition);
h) The inspection rules have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 of the.2012 edition);
i) The purchaser's acceptance requirement (see
