Scope
GB/T 29258-2026 is the English-translated version of 棉与粘胶纤维混纺本色纱线.
GB/T 29258-2026 is a product standard for grey yarn blended from cotton and viscose. It gives the product classification and marking for natural-coloured yarns made from cotton and viscose fibres (cotton-type staple fibres), and specifies requirements, inspection rules, marking and packaging, with the corresponding test methods.
It applies to natural-coloured yarn spun on ring frames, including traditional ring-spun, Siro-spun, compact-spun and Siro-compact-spun, with cotton content of at least 50% blended with viscose fibre.
This edition changed the scope, the product categories and labels, and the grading rules. Issued on 2 July 2026 and applicable from 1 August 2027, it replaces GB/T 29258-2012.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
This document replaces GB/T 29258-2012 "Combed Cotton-Viscose Blended Natural Yarn". Compared with GB/T 29258-2012, the only differences are in the structural adjustment.
Aside from integration and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
---The scope of application has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2012 edition);
---Product categories and labels have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the 2012 edition);
---The grading rules have been changed (see 5.1, 4.2 of the 2012 version);
---Added technical requirements for natural-colored yarn blended from carded cotton and viscose fiber (see 5.2.1);
---Changes were made to the linear density variation coefficient, breaking strength, breaking power variation coefficient, and stripe strength of the combed cotton and viscose blended natural yarn. Versions 4.3.1 to 4.3.8);
---The following sections have been removed from the test methods. test conditions, sampling specifications, blackboard yarn evenness test, yarn bale net weight specifications, and test results.
(See sections 5.1, 5.2, 5.6, 5.11, and 5.12 of the 2012 edition);
---Added a test method for the feather index H value (see Appendix B).
1 Scope
This document provides product classification and marking for natural-colored yarns blended from cotton and viscose fibers (cotton-type staple fibers), and specifies requirements and inspection rules. The markings and packaging describe the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to ring-spun (including traditional ring-spun, Siro-spun, compact-spun, and Siro-compact-spun) cotton (content >=50%) blended with viscose fiber. Spin natural-colored yarn.

3 Terms and Definitions
This document does not contain any terms or definitions that need to be defined. fibers or lyocell fibers A mixture of polyester fiber and cotton (formic acid/zinc chloride process)
4 Product classification and labeling
4.1 Cotton and viscose fiber blended natural yarn products are classified according to different production processes, different blending ratios and linear densities.
4.2 The production process and raw material codes for cotton and viscose fiber blended natural yarns are represented by English letters. Sirospun is AA, and compact spinning... The code for Siro compact spinning is JM; the code for traditional ring spinning production process is AAJM; the code for carded cotton is C; and the code for combed cotton is C.
The code is JC, and the code for viscose fiber is R.
4.3 The blending ratio of the product is expressed as a standard mass ratio, specifically as. cotton content/viscose fiber content.
4.4 When marking natural-colored yarns blended from cotton and viscose fibers, the yarn's manufacturing process (or code) and raw material name (or code) should be indicated before the yarn density. (number) and its blending ratio.
