Scope
GB/T 29117-2025 is the English-translated version of 绿色学校评价导则.
GB/T 29117-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering rating a school as green — the basic requirements a school has to clear before it can be scored, from three years without environmental penalties to equipment that has run for at least a year, the four indicator groups of school culture, physical conditions, behaviour and low-carbon management with their weights, the evaluation principles and process, and the worked calculation of energy and water saved by a campus refit. The 2012 edition rated energy saving alone; the scope is now the whole green school. It replaces GB/T 29117-2012. In force from 1 August 2025. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 August 2025, replacing GB/T 29117-2012.
