Scope
GB/T 28968-2012 is the English-translated version of 电子收费 车道配套设施技术要求.
GB/T 28968-2012 lays down technical requirements for the physical facilities of an electronic toll collection lane on a highway: the lane itself, the toll island, and the electronic toll signs and road markings.
Clause 1 states that it applies to the design and the construction of electronic toll lanes, toll islands, signs and markings at highway toll stations.
Clause 3 takes its terms and definitions from GB/T 20135 and GB/T 20839 and lists the abbreviations used in the text, ETC for electronic toll collection, MTC for manual toll collection and OBU for the on-board unit.
Clause 4 then gives the lane requirements: 4.1 on where the lane is placed, which should be continuously on the inner lane of the toll plaza and may also be continuously on the outer lane, and 4.2 on lane width, where Table 1 sets a standard width of 3.5 m for an inner lane and 4.0 m for a wide lane.
GB 5768 on traffic signs and road markings, GB/T 20135 on the framework model of the electronic toll collection system and GB/T 20839 on general intelligent transport terminology are cited as normative references.
The standard is administered by the National Technical Committee on Intelligent Transportation Systems Standardization (SAC/TC268) and was drafted by the Research Institute of Highway of the Ministry of Transport with a highway survey and design institute. It was issued on 2012-12-31 and has applied since 2013-06-01.
