Scope
GB/T 28285-2025 is the English-translated version of 飞机氧气系统术语.
GB/T 28285-2025 is the Chinese national vocabulary for aircraft oxygen systems. It defines the common terms in four groups - system terms, equipment terms, professional terms and test terms - and closes with an index.
The system terms cover oxygen equipment, the aircraft oxygen system itself with its gaseous, liquid and molecular-sieve on-board variants, and the oxygen source system, while the equipment terms name the regulators, masks, helmets, valves, connectors and indicators.
It is meant for the design, manufacture, testing, use, maintenance, teaching and management of aircraft oxygen systems, and it has no normative references. The 2025 edition drops synonymous and duplicated entries, renames several terms and adds new ones such as crew oxygen system, oxygen distribution device and pulse oxygen supply.
It replaces GB/T 28285-2012, was issued on 1 August 2025 and has applied since 1 February 2026.

1 Scope
This document defines common terms and definitions for aircraft oxygen systems.
This document applies to the design, manufacture, testing, use, maintenance, teaching and management of aircraft oxygen systems.
2 Normative references

3 Terms and Definitions
3.1 System Terminology
3.1.1 Oxygen equipment
Provides oxygen and protection for personnel on board, during parachuting, landing, or entering the water to prevent harm from hypoxia, low air pressure effects, and positive vertical overload. A general term for various systems, devices, and accessories that may cause harm to personnel.
3.1.2 Aircraft oxygen system
A protection system used to prevent harm to personnel caused by high-altitude hypoxia, low pressure effects, positive vertical overload, smoke, harmful substances, etc.
Note: The aircraft oxygen system mainly includes three parts. oxygen source system, oxygen supply system, and oxygen supply personal protective equipment.
3.1.3 Gas oxygen system
Oxygen system using a gaseous oxygen source.
3.1.4 Liquid oxygen system
Oxygen system using liquid oxygen source.
3.1.5 Molecular sieve oxygen system
Oxygen system using molecular sieve onboard oxygen source.
3.1.6 Oxygen source system
A device that produces or stores oxygen and provides it to the oxygen supply system at a certain pressure, flow rate, and concentration.
Note: Oxygen source systems are generally divided into gaseous oxygen source, liquid oxygen source and airborne oxygen source.
3.1.7 Gas oxygen source
A device for storing oxygen.
Note: The oxygen source is divided into low-pressure oxygen source with a maximum working pressure of less than 2.9 MPa, high-pressure oxygen source with a maximum working pressure of 2.9 MPa~14.7 MPa and high-pressure oxygen source with a maximum working pressure of The working pressure is an ultra-high pressure oxygen source of more than 14.7 MPa. The oxygen source generally consists of a container for storing oxygen (oxygen cylinder), an oxygen filling nozzle, a connecting tube, a one-way It consists of a valve, oxygen switch, oxygen pressure gauge and safety valve.
