This document replaces GB/T 27534.4-2011 "Technical Specifications for Survey of Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Part 4: Sheep" and GB/T 27534.4- Compared with 2011, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The body size and weight of adult sheep have been changed (see 6.3.1, 4.3.1 of the 2011 edition);

b) Added growth and development indicators (see 6.3.2);

c) The fattening performance indicators have been changed (see 6.3.3, 4.3.2 of the 2011 edition);

d) The slaughter performance and meat quality indicators have been changed (see 6.3.4, 6.3.5, 4.3.3 of the 2011 edition);

e) The wool (down) production performance index has been changed (see 6.3.6, Table C.3 in Appendix C of the 2011 edition);

f) The milk production performance indicators have been changed (see 6.3.7, Table C.3 in Appendix C of the 2011 edition);

g) The reproductive performance indicators have been changed to distinguish between rams and ewes (see 6.3.8, 4.3.4 of the 2011 edition);

h) The leather performance indicators have been changed (see 6.4, 4.4 of the 2011 edition);

i) Added survey items on body weight, growth and development, fattening performance, wool (wool) production performance, milk production performance, reproductive performance, and leather performance Law (see Chapter 7);

j) The number of adult ewes surveyed has been changed (see 7.2.1, 4.2.1 of the 2011 edition);

k) The number of slaughter performance and meat quality surveys has been changed (see 7.6.1, 7.7.1, 4.3.3 of the 2011 edition);

l) Records and archives management has been changed (see Chapter 8, Chapter 6 of the 2011 edition).

Introduction

Livestock and poultry genetic resources are important strategic resources for maintaining national ecological security and agricultural security, and are the material basis for the high-quality development of animal husbandry.

Conducting livestock and poultry genetic resource surveys is a statutory duty stipulated in the Animal Husbandry Law of the People’s Republic of China and is an important task in approving new livestock and poultry breeds (supporting lines) and identifying The basic requirements for identifying new genetic resources, formulating livestock and poultry genetic resource protection and utilization plans and livestock and poultry genetic resource protection lists, and engaging in breeding livestock and poultry production and management, etc.

GB/T 27534 "Technical Specifications for Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Survey" aims to standardize and guide the investigation of livestock and poultry genetic resources. A part composition.
