3 PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD
Samples were prepared using a mold, the prepared sample into the heating tank, and then put a ball on top of the specimen. The sample is heated at a predetermined rate
When sufficiently softened so that, under the weight of the ball, sinking to a predetermined depth of the sample, measurement of the temperature. The temperature is the softening point.
4 Reagents
4.1 glycerol (AR). for more than a softening point of asphalt 85 degrees C.
4.2 Water. suitable for a softening point of asphalt at 30 degrees C ~ 85 degrees C of. Distilled water, purity or rather, just after boiling cooling water.
5 Instruments
5.1 Global meter apparatus is shown in Figure 1, it consists of the following parts.
5.1.1 brass copper ring. is shown in Figure 2, the size of the following requirements.
--- Depth. 6.4mm +/- 0.1mm;
--- Bottom inner diameter. 15.9mm +/- 0.1mm;
--- Top inner diameter. 17.5mm +/- 0.1mm;
--- Shoulder portion of the outer diameter. 20.6mm +/- 0.1mm;
--- Shoulder lower portion of the outer diameter. 18.5mm +/- 0.5mm.
5.1.2 Ball. a diameter of 9.53mm, the quality of 3.50g +/- 0.05g.
5.1.3 Global Positioning guide. is shown in Figure 3.
5.1.4 groove. heat-resistant glass beaker volume of 800mL.
5.1.5 Ring frame. in Figures 1 and 4 bid to understand its shape and size. It consists of two parallel top and bottom of the brass composition, distance between
25mm +/- 0.5mm. Brass plate for supporting the copper ring (5.1.1), a thickness equal to a bottom surface of the ring to the distance between the shoulders. Above-mentioned
Two brass plates are supported by a circular frame, top center, located in the bracket slot bracket have a thermometer. (5.1.6) for a hole.
