Scope

GB/T 26825-2011 is the English-translated version of FJ抗静电防腐胶.

China's national product standard for FJ antistatic anticorrosive compound. It specifies the product classification, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, storage and transport of the compound applied to equipment surfaces and floors that must resist corrosion while dissipating static charge. The material is used on petroleum and chemical storage and handling plant - tank interiors and roofs, pipework, loading equipment, structures and the floors of areas where flammable vapour may be present. It exists because two requirements that are normally met separately have to be met by the same layer. Protective linings for such service are filled polymers, and filled polymers are excellent insulators; an insulating layer inside a tank or on a floor where hydrocarbon is handled accumulates static charge, and a charged surface in a flammable atmosphere is an ignition source. The lining therefore has to conduct enough to bleed charge to earth without ceasing to behave as a protective coating, and its surface resistivity has to remain inside that window after it has been aged, heated, abraded and wetted rather than only when new. The standard was developed under the national nanotechnology standardization committee, the compound being a filled system in which the conductive and reinforcing phases are dispersed at very fine scale. It specifies the classification of the product, the properties of the material as supplied and of the cured film - the surface and volume resistivity, the adhesion, the hardness, the flexibility, the impact and abrasion resistance, the water and heat resistance and the burning behaviour - together with the test methods, the sampling and inspection rules, and the marking, packaging, storage and transport provisions. Issued on 29 July 2011 and in force since 1 December 2011.
