GB/T 26669-2024 is the English-translated version of 电工电子产品环境意识设计 术语.

GB/T 26669-2024 is the Chinese vocabulary of environmentally conscious design for electrical and electronic products. Ecodesign has become a regulatory requirement rather than a voluntary practice, in China through the green product programme and outside it through the European ecodesign and right-to-repair rules that Chinese exporters must satisfy, and the vocabulary is where the requirements bite: durability, reparability, upgradeability, recyclability, recoverability and disassembly time are all defined quantities with legal consequence, and a loose usage in a Chinese specification will not survive an audit. The standard defines the terms across the field: the general environmentally conscious design terms, the life cycle terms, the material terms including recycled and recyclable content and restricted substances, the design strategy terms of reduction, reuse, repair, remanufacture and recycling, the end-of-life treatment terms, and the assessment, declaration and communication terms. It takes effect on 1 December 2024.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1:1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting: This document replaces GB/T 26669-2011 "Terms for Environmental Awareness Design of Electrical and Electronic Products" and is consistent with GB/T 26669-2011: In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope of application of this document has been modified (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the:2011 edition);
