Scope

GB/T 26408-2020 is the English-translated version of 混凝土搅拌运输车.

China's national standard for concrete truck mixers. It specifies the classification, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of truck-mounted mixers used to carry ready-mixed concrete. The truck mixer exists because concrete has a clock running from the moment water meets cement, and everything about the vehicle follows from that. The drum turns during transport not to mix the load but to keep it from segregating and stiffening in place: the coarse aggregate would settle out of a static load and the paste would begin to set against the drum wall, and either would arrive as something that cannot be placed. So the drum, its helical blades, its rotation speed and its ability to discharge completely are the machine, and the discharge matters as much as the carriage - a load that will not come out cleanly leaves hardened concrete in the drum, and drum build-up is what eventually kills the vehicle. The standard also has to deal with the fact that this is one of the least stable vehicles on the road. The load is dense and it is carried high, so the centre of gravity is far above that of a normal truck, and it is liquid, so it moves: the concrete surges when the vehicle brakes, and it slops sideways in a corner, adding a dynamic moment on top of an already high static one. Roll-over is the characteristic accident of the type. So alongside the mixing and discharge performance the standard specifies the drum and its supports, the drive and hydraulics, the water system, the chassis interface and the mass distribution, the residual concrete after discharge, and the stability and safety requirements. Issued on 14 December 2020 and in force since 1 November 2021, it replaces GB/T 26408-2011.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1:1-2009: This standard replaces GB/T 26408-2011 "Concrete Mixer Truck": Compared with GB/T 26408-2011, except for editorial revisions The main technical changes of the external change are as follows:

--- The definition of "ready-mixed concrete" is changed to "homogeneous concrete" (see 3:4);

---Modified the definition of "stirring capacity" (see 3:7);

---Modified the definition of "mixing capacity" (see 3:8);

---Modified the definition of "feed rate" (see 3:10);

---Modified the definition of "discharge speed" (see 3:11);

--- Added the definition of "load quality utilization factor" (see 3:13);

---Modified the basic parameters of the mixer truck (see 5:1:8);

---Modified the emission requirements for mixer trucks (see 5:1:12);

---Modified the judgment requirements for the overflow of the mixer truck during loading and transportation (see 5:1:17);

---Modified the discharge residual rate of the mixer truck (see 5:1:23);

---Added the requirements and calculation methods of the load mass utilization factor (see 5:1:24);

---Added the requirements for mixer trucks when using new energy power and semi-trailers (see 5:1:25, 5:1:26);

---Modified the design speed of the mixing drum (see 5:3:4);

1 Scope

China's national standard for concrete truck mixers. It specifies the classification, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of truck-mounted mixers used to carry ready-mixed concrete. The truck mixer exists because concrete has a clock running from the moment water meets cement, and everything about the vehicle follows from that.
