1 Scope

GB/T 26237.13-2023 is Part 13 of the Chinese series on biometric data interchange formats, and covers voice data. Voice is the biometric that arrives over a channel rather than from a sensor: the same speaker sounds different on a landline, a mobile and a conference microphone, and the format has to record enough about the capture and the coding for a comparison made later to be meaningful. It also has to accommodate both raw audio and the parametric representations that speaker recognition systems actually work on.
