GB/T 26237.11-2023 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 生物特征识别数据交换格式 第11部分:处理过的签名/签字动态数据.
GB/T 26237.11-2023 is Part 11 of the Chinese series on biometric data interchange formats, and covers processed dynamic signature data. A handwritten signature captured on a pad is not an image but a time series - position, pressure and pen angle sampled through the stroke - and it is that dynamic behaviour, not the shape, that is hard to forge. Processed data means the derived features rather than the raw samples, which is what a verification system actually stores and exchanges, and what a bank or a court has to be able to read years later on different equipment. The standard sets the coordinate system, byte order and format type identifiers, the conversion relationships between formats, the signature data record with its dynamic event data and overall feature data, and the processed dynamic record format with its record headers, with an annex giving the abstract syntax for the encoding. It took effect on 1 December 2023.
