Scope

GB/T 25523-2022 is the English-translated version of 矿用机械正铲式挖掘机 安全要求.

GB/T 25523-2022 gives the safety requirements for the physical performance and intended use of electric mining rope shovels, the front shovel excavators used in surface mining, and lists the hazards that may arise over their whole life cycle.

Hazards common to general mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and lubrication equipment are left outside it.

The requirements cover working-at-height maintenance areas, the driver's cab with its emergency exit and seat, emergency stop devices, pneumatic control and lubrication systems, boarding ladders, drive motor terminals, cable trays, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical cabinets, alarm devices including remote and unmanned operation, brake system monitoring, wire ropes, escape routes, fire fighting, lighting and environmental protection.

It partly replaces GB 25523-2010, was issued on 11 July 2022 and has applied since 1 February 2023.

This document replaces part of the contents of GB 25523-2010 "Safety Requirements for Mining Machinery Front Shovel Excavators", and is the same as GB 25523-2010.

Compared with GB 25523-2010, except for structural adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Deleted the requirements that the equipment should meet when the excavator is used in a low temperature environment below -30°C (see 4.1.5 of the 2010 edition);

b) Added safety requirements for working at heights maintenance area (see 5.1.7);

c) Added emergency exit requirements for driver's cab (see 5.2.6);

d) Changed the safety requirements of the driver's cab (see 5.2.9, 4.2.8 of the 2010 edition);

e) Changed the seat requirements of the driver's cab (see 5.2.11, 4.2.10 of the 2010 edition);

f) The requirements for the high pressure limit in the emergency stop device are added (see 5.3.2.6);

g) Changed the general requirements for air control and lubrication systems (see 5.4.1, 4.4.1 of the 2010 edition);

h) Changed the safety requirements of the pneumatic control system (see 5.4.2, 4.4.2 of the 2010 edition);

i) Added safety requirements for operating boarding ladders (see 5.4.2.6 and 5.6.1.8);

j) Changed the safety requirements of the lubrication system (see 5.4.4, 4.4.4 of the 2010 edition);

k) Added safety requirements for lubricating oil tank (see 5.4.4.3 and 5.4.4.4);

l) The safety requirements for the connection terminals of the drive motor of the main mechanism of the excavator are added (see 5.6.1.3);

m) Added the requirement for the installation of the cable tray at the bottom of the central pivot (see 5.6.1.9);

n) Added uninterruptible power supply (UPS) power supply requirements (see 5.6.4);

o) Added safety requirements for electrical cabinets (see 5.6.5);

p) Changed the signal requirements of the alarm device (see 5.7.1, 4.7.1 of the 2010 edition);

q) The requirements for alarm devices when remotely operated or unmanned autonomous excavators are added (see 5.7.4);

r) Added the safety requirements for the detection system in the braking system (see 5.8.1.3);

s) Changed the technical requirements document for wire rope (see 5.9.5, 4.9.5 of the 2010 edition);

t) Added monitoring requirements for bucket teeth and sheaths (see 5.9.6);

u) The requirements for emergency escape routes have been added (see 5.10.5 and 5.10.6);

v) Changed the requirements for fire extinguishing and fire protection systems (see 5.11, 4.11 of the 2010 edition);

w) Changed the safety requirements for lighting systems (see 5.12.4, 4.12.4 of the 2010 edition);

x) Added environmental protection requirements (see 5.14).
