Scope
GB/T 24218.102-2022 is the English-translated version of 纺织品 非织造布试验方法 第102部分:拉伸弹性的测定.
GB/T 24218.102-2022 describes how the tensile elasticity of nonwoven fabrics is measured, and applies to nonwovens. It is Part 102 of GB/T 24218, the series of test methods for nonwovens, in which the numbers from 101 upwards are used for methods developed in China.
A constant-rate-of-extension tester stretches the specimen at a constant elongation or a constant force; after a set time the tension is removed, the specimen recovers, and the change in its size gives the elastic recovery rate, the permanent deformation rate and the stress relaxation rate.
The tester records force and elongation automatically, meets class 1 of GB/T 16825.1, holds a 200 mm gauge length to within 1 mm and keeps a speed between 5 mm/min and 300 mm/min to within 10%. It was issued on 30 December 2022 and has applied since 1 July 2023.

Introduction
At present, there are ISO 9074 series method standards for nonwoven performance testing in the world, and our country has correspondingly transformed into GB/T 24218 series methods.
Method standards are listed, and the method standards for nonwovens independently developed in my country are also named and numbered in accordance with GB/T 24218. Currently, The part number of the standard has reached 18, and the self-developed standard is numbered from 101, and the number 19~100 leaves room for the development of the standard.
GB/T 24218 "Test Methods for Textile Nonwoven Fabrics" provides test methods for relevant performance indicators of nonwoven fabrics, which are intended to include the following part.
--- Part 1: Determination of mass per unit area;
--- Part 2: Determination of thickness;
--- Part 3: Determination of breaking strength and elongation at break (strip method);
--- Part 5: Determination of resistance to mechanical penetration (steel ball bursting method);
--- Part 6: Determination of absorbency;
--- Part 8: Determination of liquid breakthrough time (simulated urine);
--- Part 10: Determination of dry flocculation;
--- Part 11: Determination of overflow;
--- Part 12: Determination of absorbency under pressure;
--- Part 13: Determination of multiple penetration times of liquids;
--- Part 14: Determination of moisture rewetting of coating materials;
--- Part 15: Determination of air permeability;
--- Part 16: Determination of water penetration resistance (hydrostatic pressure method);
--- Part 17: Determination of water penetration resistance (spray impact method);
--- Part 18: Determination of breaking strength and elongation at break (grab method);
--- Part 101: Determination of resistance to saline (Mason jar method);
--- Part 102: Determination of tensile elasticity.
1 Scope
This document describes the test method for the tensile elasticity of nonwoven fabrics.
This document applies to nonwovens.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 3291.3 apply to this document.
4 Principles
Under the specified conditions, the constant elongation (CRE) tester is used to stretch the sample at a constant elongation or a constant force, so that the sample is deformed.
After a certain period of time, remove the tension, make it recover for a period of time, measure the size change of the sample, and calculate the elastic recovery rate, permanent deformation rate and stress relaxation rate.
5 Instruments and tools
5.1 The measurement confirmation system of the CRE tester shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 19022. The CRE tester should have the following characteristics.
a) Means for automatically recording the force applied to the specimen and the corresponding elongation of the specimen. Instrument accuracy according to GB/T 16825.1 Level 1 requirement. At any point within the full range of the instrument, the maximum error of the indicated value of strength does not exceed 1%, and the maximum error of the indicated value of elongation does not exceed over 1%.
b) The holder can firmly hold the entire width of the sample without damaging the sample. The instrument can set a gauge length of 200mm, with an accuracy of ±1mm.
c) The instrument can set a constant stretching speed within the range of 5mm/min~300mm/min, with an accuracy of ±10%.
d) The two holders of the instrument can be stretched up and down. The center point of the two clamps of the holder is on the tension axis.
