Scope
GB/T 22034-2008 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 藏文编码字符集键盘字母数字区的布局.
GB/T 22034-2008 fixes the keyboard layout of the alphanumeric zone for the Tibetan coded character set. Clause 1 states exactly that and limits the application to the keyboards of Tibetan information systems and other related equipment, with no exclusion on the page.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 1988, GB/T 2787 and GB 16959-1997, the basic set of the Tibetan coded character set for information interchange.
Clause 3, Definitions, prints six entries whose term names the draft does not carry: a collection comprising alphanumeric characters, punctuation, special symbols and spacing characters; a subset of a coded character set identified by its structure for combination with leading non-graphic characters or as a combining character within a sequence; a character that, unlike a control character, normally has a visual representation when written, printed or displayed; something that can be recorded, processed, transmitted and decoded; the graphic form in which a character appears in certain words, depending on its position relative to the other characters; and the extended basic set of the Tibetan coded character set, which the draft describes as a collection built from vertically superposed basic Tibetan characters, the rest of its wording being too garbled to report.
The draft breaks off at the last of those entries, so the body of the standard cannot be reported, but the contents page gives it as clause 4 on the numbering, grouping and classification of the keys and clause 5 on the layout of the alphanumeric zone on the keyboard.
The same contents page lists Appendix A on the 8-bit key numbering system, Appendix B on the division of the key groups and the position of their markers on the keyboard surface and Appendix C on the general arrangement of the keyboard as normative, and Appendix D on the basic Tibetan coded character set for information interchange as informative.
The page records no earlier edition. It was issued on 2008-06-17 and has applied since 2008-11-01.
