Scope
GB/T 21140-2017 is the English-translated version of 非结构用指接材.
GB/T 21140-2017 is the Chinese national standard for non-structural finger jointed lumber, the boards and squares bonded end to end through finger joints and used for furniture, interior decoration and other non load-bearing work.
It gives the terms and definitions, the classification, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the rules for marking, packaging, transport and storage.
Material is classed by water resistance into class I weather-resistant, class II moisture-resistant and class III non-moisture-resistant, and by the face on which the joint shows into horizontal (H) and vertical (V) types.
Compared with the previous edition it adds size, deviation and warp limits and a formaldehyde emission limit, and changes the bending strength index and the way bending strength is calculated.
It replaces GB/T 21140-2007, was issued on 1 November 2017 and has applied since 1 May 2018.
