Scope

GB/T 20811-2018 is the English-translated version of 废纸分类技术要求.

GB/T 20811-2018 is the Chinese national standard for sorting waste paper and board for recycling. It defines the terms used in the trade, among them waste paper, prohibited materials, impurities, miscellaneous paper, outthrows, contract and measured moisture, and contract and measured weight.

It then sets the classification of waste paper with its classification codes, the requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, with an annex on how the percentage difference in weight is calculated.

It applies to the recycling, trading and inspection of domestic waste paper used by the paper industry, so it serves both paper mills and the waste paper trade.

It replaces GB/T 20811-2006, was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.
