1 Scope
This document describes methods for the determination of the antibacterial (bacteriostatic) properties of paper, paperboard and paper products, including the carrier antibacterial test, the ring of inhibition test, the shaking Flask test, antibacterial component transfer determination test, superabsorbent material antibacterial performance test and long-term anti-mold performance test.
This document applies to paper, paperboard and paper products and their raw materials.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Antibacterial
The process of killing or hindering the growth and reproduction of bacteria by chemical or physical methods can reduce their number and activity.
3.2 Bacteriostatic
The process of inhibiting or hindering the growth and reproduction of bacteria and their activity by chemical or physical means.
4 Determination methods and selection of test bacteria
4.1 Choice of determination method
4.1.1 Ordinary samples
Choose the appropriate measurement method according to the sample performance and usage. For samples containing leaching antibacterial components, or fiber raw materials (including For samples with antibacterial function and good water absorption, carrier antibacterial test (Chapter 5) can be selected for quantitative measurement For samples containing leaching antibacterial ingredients, if qualitative determination is carried out, the inhibition zone test (Chapter 6) can be selected; for samples containing non-dissolving For samples of antibacterial ingredients, after the identification test is confirmed, the shaking flask test (Chapter 7) can be selected for quantitative determination.
Judgment method of sample water absorption. Cut the sample into a sample with a size of 2.0cm×3.0cm (the samples can be stacked, but the number of pieces shall not exceed 3 pieces), drop 100 µL of bacterial suspension on the surface of the sample, if the bacterial suspension can be completely absorbed by the sample, it is considered that the sample has good water absorption Samples, such as antibacterial tissue paper.
4.1.2 Special samples
