1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting is scheduled. This document replaces GB/T 20397-2006 "Quality Grading of Ginkgo Seeds". Compared with GB/T 20397-2006, except for structural adjustments and... Aside from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

---The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2006 edition);

---The "Quality Requirements for Edible Seed Kernels" and "Test Methods" have been revised (see Chapters 4 and 6, and Chapters 4 and 6 of the.2006 edition);

---The "Quality Requirements for Seed Kernels for Seed Use" and "Inspection Methods" have been revised (see Chapters 5 and 6, Chapters 5 and 6 of the.2006 edition);

---The inspection rules have been changed (see Chapter 7,

1 Scope

GB/T 20397-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the ginkgo nut as a graded product - the size and fullness, the moisture and the mould, and the defects, on a seed eaten as food and used in traditional medicine. It replaces GB/T 20397-2006 and has been in force since 1 May 2026. It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 May 2026, replacing GB/T 20397-2006. The document is under the responsibility of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. This document specifies the quality requirements, packaging, storage, and transportation of ginkgo seeds for edible and seed purposes, and describes the corresponding testing methods. This document applies to the production, processing, and sale of ginkgo seeds.
