This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 19984-2005 "Terminology and Precision of Veneer Shearing Machines for Woodworking Machines" and is consistent with GB/T 19984-2005. Compared to previous versions, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

---The normative references have been changed (see 4.2,

4.7 and Table 1; 3.2,

3.7 and Table 2 in the.2005 edition);

---The term "Terminology" has been changed to "Terms and Definitions," and the example diagram of the single-plate shearing machine and related technical content have been revised (see Chapter 3,.2005). Chapter 4 of the.2008 edition);

---The phrase "Brief Description" has been changed to "General Requirements," and the relevant content descriptions have been revised (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the.2005 edition);

1 Scope

GB/T 19984-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the machine that shears a stack of veneer to size - its terminology, the straightness and squareness of the cut, and the accuracy of the fence and the feed that decide how much veneer becomes offcut. Issued on 31 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026, replacing GB/T 19984-2005.
