GB/T 19782-2023 is the Chinese germplasm standard for the Chinese prawn.

It fixes the scientific name and classification, the main morphological and structural characteristics, the growth and reproduction characteristics, the cytogenetic characteristics and the molecular genetic characteristics of the species, and describes the corresponding detection methods and the rules for judging a result.

It applies to the identification and testing of Chinese prawn germplasm. Clause 5 describes the external form in detail, from the toothless tip of the rostrum to the longitudinal ridge on the fourth to sixth abdominal segments and the disc-shaped connector at the base of the female pereiopods.

It cites GB/T 18654.2, GB/T 18654.12, GB/T 22213 and SC/T 1102. It replaces GB/T 19782-2005, was issued on 28 December 2023 and has applied since 1 April 2024.

The body is flat on the side and divided into two parts: cephalothorax and abdomen. The upper edge of the forehead is tapered and toothless at the end, and the lower edge has smaller teeth. The second tentacle scales have super out of the first antennal stalk but not as far as the end of the forehead. The oculogastric ridge is obvious, there is a longitudinal ridge in the center of the back of the fourth to sixth abdominal segments, and there is even an even ridge at the end of the caudal segment. Pointed, with no active spines on both sides. The inner limb of the first abdominal segment of the male shrimp is deformed and specialized into a coxa, which is slightly bell-shaped; between the fourth and fifth steps of the female shrimp on the plastron at the base, there is a disc-shaped connector for receiving the seminal vesicles.
