Scope
GB/T 19557.8-2022 is the English-translated version of 植物品种特异性(可区别性)、一致性和稳定性测试指南 李.
GB/T 19557.8-2022 is Part 8 of GB/T 19557 and tells testing stations how to examine a new plum variety (Prunus Linn. spp.) for distinctness, uniformity and stability.
It gives the conditions the propagating material has to meet, the test method, the way the results are judged, the table of characteristics, the grouping characteristics and the technical questionnaire.
Clauses 3 and 4 define group measurement, group visual observation and individual visual observation, and fix the symbols used in the characteristic tables: MG, MS, PQ, QL, QN, VG and the asterisk that marks the characteristics UPOV asks for in every variety description.
It cites GB/T 19557.1 and NY/T 2637. It replaces GB/T 19557.8-2004, was issued on 30 December 2022 and has applied since 1 July 2023.

Introduction
In 1997, in order to protect the rights of new plant varieties, encourage the cultivation and use of new plant varieties, and promote the development of agriculture and forestry, my country issued the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of New Varieties of Plants". In 1999, my country joined the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) and became a 39th member. Distinctiveness, uniformity and stability (DUS) are the basic attributes of varieties, and DUS testing is an important basis for granting variety rights. according to. In order to standardize the order of the seed market, in 2015, when the "Seed Law of the People's Republic of China" was revised, the DUS test was used as a variety approval and registration method. Note the preconditions.
For DUS testing of new plant varieties, the testing guidelines are usually developed on the basis of plant genus or species. Due to the wide range of plant classification, different plant genera The phenotypic differences between species are large, and it is difficult to construct a standard for DUS testing for all species. Therefore, GB/T 19557 is divided into several Parts, each part specifies the test traits and points of a plant. GB/T 19557 is proposed to consist of 33 parts.
