Scope

GB/T 19557.20-2017 is the English-translated version of 植物品种特异性、一致性和稳定性测试指南茄子.

GB/T 19557.20-2017 is the Chinese guideline for testing the distinctness, uniformity and stability (DUS) of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) varieties. It gives the technical requirements for the test and the general principles for judging its results.

It defines group measurement, individual measurement, group visual observation and individual visual observation, and then covers the requirements for propagating material, the test method, how distinctness, uniformity and stability are determined, the table of characteristics, the grouping characteristics and the technical questionnaire.

The annexes hold the eggplant table of characteristics, its explanations and the questionnaire. It draws on the crop seed testing rules of GB/T 3543 for purity, germination and moisture, on the general part GB/T 19557.1 and on UPOV guideline TG/117/4. It was issued on 1 November 2017 and has applied since 1 May 2018.
