Scope
GB/T 19258.2-2023 is the English-translated version of 杀菌用紫外辐射源 第2部分:冷阴极低气压汞蒸气放电灯.
GB/T 19258.2-2023 is Part 2 of the Chinese series on ultraviolet radiation sources for germicidal use and deals with the cold cathode low pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp.
It sets the product classification and model designation, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the rules for marking, packaging, storage and transport.
It applies to ozone and ozone-free lamps made of quartz glass or other ultraviolet-transmitting glass whose radiation peaks at 253.7 nm, in double-ended, single-ended, self-ballasted and wire-terminal forms.
Six normative annexes give the measurement of lamp and electrical parameters, of starting characteristics, of ultraviolet radiation flux and irradiance, the static method for ozone production and the life test.
It cites GB/T 2900.65, GB/T 19258.1-2022, JJG 879-2015 and HJ 590-2010. It replaces GB/T 28795-2012, was issued on 7 September 2023 and has applied since 1 April 2024.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
This document is Part 2 of GB/T 19258 "Ultraviolet radiation sources for sterilization". GB/T 19258 has released the following parts.
---Part 1: Low pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp;
---Part 2: Cold cathode low pressure mercury vapor discharge lamps.
This document replaces GB/T 28795-2012 "Cold Cathode Ultraviolet Germicidal Lamps". Compared with GB/T 28795-2012, except for structural adjustments in addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
---Added the definition of UV radiation illumination maintenance rate (see 3.18);
---The shape of the lamp has been changed, and the lead or lead terminal type cold cathode low-pressure mercury vapor discharge, which is more popular on the market, has been added Ultraviolet germicidal lamps, and stipulates its relevant technical requirements (see 4.1, Chapter 5, GB/T 28795-2012 4.1, 4.3, Chapter Chapter 5);
---Changed the rules for writing lamp models (see 4.2, 4.2 of GB/T 28795-2012);
---Added and modified the starting characteristics requirements and test methods of lamps (see 5.3 and Appendix B);
---Changed the regulations on the measurement distance of ultraviolet radiation illumination (see 6.6, 6.6 of GB/T 28795-2012);
---Changed the regulations on marking and packaging (see Chapter 8, Chapter 8 of GB/T 28795-2012);
---Changed the measurement method of lamp electrical parameters (see Appendix A, Appendix C of GB/T 28795-2012);
---An ultraviolet distributed radiometer is added, and the irradiance integration method is used to measure the ultraviolet radiation flux of the ultraviolet germicidal lamp under test (see attachment Record C);
--- Added provisions for the cosine characteristics and nonlinear error requirements of UV probes, and changed the test conditions for measuring UV radiation illumination (see Appendix D, Appendix A of GB/T 28795-2012);
---Changed the test method for ozone production (see Appendix E, Appendix F of GB/T 28795-2012);
---Changed the test method for lamp life (see Appendix F, Appendix E of GB/T 28795-2012).
Introduction
After pathogenic microorganisms absorb ultraviolet radiation energy with wavelengths between 200nm and 280nm, their genetic material (nucleic acid) undergoes mutations, leading to the disinfection method that causes cells to no longer divide and reproduce and achieve the purpose of inactivating pathogenic microorganisms is called ultraviolet disinfection. UV radiation source as UV killer the core component of sterilization products is used to achieve the purpose of sterilization and disinfection. GB/T 19258 "Ultraviolet radiation source for sterilization" aims to standardize the The safety requirements and performance requirements of ultraviolet radiation sources are planned to be composed of 5 parts.
---Part 1: Low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamps. The purpose is to standardize the production of low-pressure mercury vapor discharge hot cathode ultraviolet germicidal lamps. Product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage.
---Part 2: Cold cathode low pressure mercury vapor discharge lamps. The purpose is to standardize low-pressure mercury vapor discharge cold cathode ultraviolet sterilization Product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of lamps.
---Part 3: UV excimer lamp. The purpose is to standardize the product classification and technology of 222nm ultraviolet KrCl excimer lamps Requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage.
---Part 4: UV germicidal lamp based on photocatalysis. The purpose is to standardize products that utilize ultraviolet radiation sources for photocatalytic sterilization Classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage.
---Part 5: UV LED radiation source for sterilization. The purpose is to standardize the product classification and technology of UV LED radiation sources for sterilization Requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage.
1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2900.65 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 Cold cathode ultraviolet germicidal lamp
A cold cathode glow discharge low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp using quartz glass or other transparent purple glass. The discharge produces a wavelength of ultraviolet radiation mainly at 253.7nm.
Note: Its ultraviolet radiation can kill bacteria and viruses. Effective sterilization and disinfection require a certain ultraviolet dose. The ultraviolet dose refers to the amount of radiation received per unit area of ultraviolet energy.
