Scope
GB/T 19200-2025 is the English-translated version of 猪水疱病诊断技术.
GB/T 19200-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering telling swine vesicular disease from foot-and-mouth, which looks identical in a pig — the virus isolation and the RT-PCR, the antigen and antibody ELISAs, the specimen handling and biosecurity, and the differential result on which a movement standstill depends. The two diseases are indistinguishable at the pen side, and one of them closes a country's exports. It replaces GB/T 19200-2003, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In force from 1 March 2026. Issued on 29 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 March 2026, replacing GB/T 19200-2003.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 19200-2003 “Diagnostic Techniques for Swine Vesicular Disease” and GB/T 22917-2008 “Fluorescence Spectroscopy of Swine Vesicular Disease Virus”.
RT-PCR detection method". This document is based on GB/T 19200-2003 and integrates the contents of GB/T 22917-2008.
Compared with GB/T 19200-2003, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
— Changed the scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2003 edition);
— Added abbreviations (see Chapter 4);
— Increased clinical diagnosis (see Chapter 5);
— Added biosafety measures (see Chapter 6);
— Added reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) (see Chapter 9);
— Added fluorescent reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (fluorescent RT-PCR) (see Chapter 10);
— Added monoclonal antibody competition enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (monoclonal antibody competition ELISA) (see Chapter 12);
— Added comprehensive judgment (see Chapter 13);
— Deleted the reverse indirect hemagglutination test (RIHA) (see 2.5 of the 2003 edition);
— Deleted agar gel immunodiffusion test (AGID) (see Chapter 3 of the 2003 edition).

Introduction
An acute, contagious disease of pigs characterized by blisters around the hooves, mouth, snout, and teats, with no obvious signs of infection in the internal organs.
SVDV belongs to the Picornaviridae family, Enterovirus genus, and has only one The World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) lists it as a notifiable disease, and China defines it as a Class I animal disease.
