Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 18887-2002 "Geosynthetic Woven/Nonwoven Composite Geotextiles" and is consistent with GB/T 18887- Compared with.2002, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added a "Terms and Definitions" chapter (see Chapter 3);

b) Changed the code name content (see 4.3,

3.3 of the.2002 version);

c) Change the width deviation rate and mass deviation rate per unit area from reference items to assessment items (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2002 version);

d) Change "Longitudinal and transverse rupture strength" to "Longitudinal and transverse tensile strength" (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2002 version);

e) Change "elongation at constant load" to "elongation under maximum load in longitudinal and transverse directions" (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2002 version);

f) The assessment indicators of "peel strength", "acid and alkali resistance" and "ultraviolet resistance" have been added (see Table 1);

g) Delete the relevant requirements for "negotiation between supply and demand parties" (see

4.1.3 of the.2002 version);

h) The assessment of broken needle residues has been added to the appearance defects (see Table 2);

i) Corresponding test methods have been adjusted according to changes in technical requirements for intrinsic quality and appearance quality (see Chapter 6, Section 5 of the.2002 edition chapter);

j) Added "inspection classification" and "inspection items" (see

1 Scope

GB/T 18887-2023 is the Chinese national standard on geosynthetics - geocomposites made of woven/nonwoven geotextiles, in the field of textile and leather technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 6 August 2023 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 March 2024. Classification: ICS 59.080.70, CCS W59.
