Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules. This standard replaces GB/T 17227-1998 "primary and secondary school textbooks hygiene standards", compared with the GB/T 17227-1998 Main Changes are as follows:
--- Modify the standard name;
--- Adjust the order of chapters;
--- An increase of some terms and definitions;
--- Paper Requirements revise textbooks;
--- Revised textbook format size requirements;
--- Revised textbook text layout requirements;
--- Revised textbook printing quality requirements;
--- Modified single textbook weight requirements;
--- Increasing the printing portion of the migration of elements requirements. Please note that some of the content of this document may involve patents. Release mechanism of the present document does not assume responsibility for the identification of these patents. This standard is proposed and managed by the National Health and Family Planning Commission People's Republic of China. This standard was drafted. Fudan University. This standard specifies the primary and secondary textbooks paper, format size, text layout, print quality, and the weight of the single limit migration of elements Hygiene requirements. This standard applies to ordinary primary and secondary school textbooks of Chinese characters used in Chinese characters reading materials other students may also refer to execution.

3 Terms and Definitions
GB/T 9851 and as defined in the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Offset printing paper offsetprintingpaper Suitable for offset printing books, covers, illustrations, photographs, and other with double-sided printed paper.
3.2 Offset paper books offsetpaper Suitable for monochrome or two-color offset printing books, literature, magazine paper.
3.3 Paper light (white) of paperbrightness Paper diffuse blue reflectance factor that paper in the blue (457nm) irradiation, reflected by the reflective capacity.
3.4 Quantitative paper paperbasisweight Paper weight per unit area, in units of g/m2.
3.5 Paper tightness paperdensity Paper weight per unit volume, in units of g/cm3.
Note 1. It indicates the degree of slack in the paper. NOTE 2. paper tightness can not be measured directly, can be quantified by the sheet of paper thickness calculation, that tightness = quantitative/thickness.
