Scope

GB/T 16743-2010 is the English-translated version of 冲裁间隙.

GB/T 16743-2010 specifies the blanking clearance values for metal and non-metal sheet, together with the dimensional accuracy and sheared-surface quality that blanked parts can achieve with those clearances; it applies to conventional blanking of sheet less than 10 mm thick.

It divides the clearance for metal sheet into five categories, from small to large clearance, each characterised by rollover, burnished and fracture zone heights, burr height, fracture angle, flatness, dimensional accuracy of blanked and pierced parts, blanking and stripping forces, blanking work and die life.

Clearance values per side, as a percentage of sheet thickness, are tabulated for low-, medium- and high-carbon steels, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and their alloys, magnesium alloys, electrical silicon steel and common non-metal sheets, followed by selection principles (adjustments for small holes, carbide dies, high-speed stamping, hot blanking, thickness steps, bimetal sheet) and a two-step and an analogy selection method.

It replaces GB/T 16743-1997, subdividing the categories and widening the clearance values, specifying the range commonly used in production, adding rules for electrically machined die edges and for bimetal clad sheet, and deleting obsolete hot-rolled silicon steel grades.

Foreword

This standard replaces GB/T 16743-1997, Blanking clearance.

Compared with GB/T 16743-1997, the main changes are as follows:

- the blanking categories have been further subdivided and the selectable blanking clearance values have been widened;

- the range of blanking clearance values commonly used in production has been specified;

- principles for selecting the blanking clearance when the die cutting edges are produced by electrical machining have been added;

- principles for selecting the blanking clearance for bimetal clad sheet have been added;

- obsolete grades of hot-rolled silicon steel sheet have been deleted;

- a bibliography has been added;

- editorial changes have been made to part of the text.

This standard was proposed by and is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Forging and Pressing of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 74).
