Scope

GB/T 15546-2022 is the English-translated version of 冶金轧辊术语.

GB/T 15546-2022 is the Chinese terminology standard for mill rolls, the rolls used in metallurgical rolling mills.

It defines the basic terms, such as the metallurgical roll itself, the roll body, the roll neck, the journal, the working layer and the depth of the hardened layer, and then groups further terms by manufacturing process, by material, by rolling sequence and configuration, with a final chapter of other terms.

Among the terms it adds are the roll ring and its outer diameter, inner diameter and width, the mandrel, the roll shape, the roll pass, residual stress, roll body texturing and roll neck strengthening.

It applies to metallurgical rolls and has no normative references. It replaces GB/T 15546-1995, was issued on 14 October 2022 and has applied since 1 May 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

This document replaces GB/T 15546-1995 "Terminology of Metallurgical Rolls", compared with GB/T 15546-1995, except for structural adjustment and editing in addition to the sexual changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The basic terminology part changes as follows:

1) Changed the English corresponding words of the four terms of metallurgical roll, roll body, operation side, and depth of hardened layer of roll body (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.8, 3.27, 2.1, 2.2, 2.7, 2.19 of the 1995 edition);

2) Changed the metallurgical roll, roll neck, journal, shaft head, riser end, base end, working layer, center line, depth of hardened layer of roll body, hardness Definition of 11 terms of degree uniformity and hardness drop (see 3.1, 3.3, 3.5, 3.6, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11, 3.19, 3.27, 3.29, 3.30, 2.1, 2.3~5, 2.8~10, 2.14, 2.19, 2.20, 2.17 of the 1995 edition);

3) Added support shoulder, core, roll ring, roll shaft, mandrel, roll ring outer diameter, roll ring inner diameter, roll ring width, roll shape, roll pass, roll ring 14 terms and definitions of hole pattern, residual stress, roll body texturing, roll neck strengthening (see 3.4, 3.14, 3.15, 3.16, 3.17, 3.21, 3.22, 3.23, 3.24, 3.25, 3.26, 3.32, 3.33);

4) The term "hardness gradient" has been deleted (see 2.18 of the 1995 edition).

b) The manufacturing process part changes as follows:

1) Changed the definitions of the three terms casting roll, forging roll and composite roll (see 4.1, 4.2, 4.33, 1995 edition 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.2.2);

2) Added centrifugal casting composite roll, integral cast steel backup roll, composite cast steel backup roll, composite tool steel roll, electroplating roll Rolls, electroslag composite rolls, electroslag cast alloy steel rolls, laser cladding rolls, variable crown rolls, combined rolls 10 techniques terms and definitions (see 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.9, 4.10, 4.11, 4.13, 4.14, 4.17);

3) Changed the definitions of the two terms, surfacing roll and continuous casting compound roll, and their English counterparts (see 4.8, 4.15, 1995). version 3.1.6, 3.1.4);

4) Changed the definitions of the terms powder metallurgy roll and spray deposition roll (see 4.12, 4.16, 3.1.3, 1995 edition 3.1.5).

c) The material classification part changes as follows:

1) The terms carbon cast steel roll and semi-chilled ductile iron roll are deleted (see 3.1.1a and g of the 1995 edition);

2) Changed alloy cast steel rolls, cast semi-steel rolls, graphite steel rolls, high chromium steel rolls, infinite chilled cast iron rolls, high chromium rolls Iron rolls, pearlitic ductile iron rolls, bainitic ductile iron rolls, forged steel rolls, forged semi-steel rolls, forged white rolls Definitions of 10 terms for iron rolls (see 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.3, 5.1.4, 5.2.2, 5.2.3, 5.2.4, 5.2.5, 5.3, 5.3.5, 3.1.1b, c, d, e, h, k, i, j, 3.1.2a, b, c) of the 1995 edition;

3) Changed the English equivalents of the two terms: cast semi-steel roll and forged white iron roll (see 5.1.2, 5.3.2, 1995 edition) 3.1.1c, 3.1.2c);
