This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 14650-2005 "General Technical Specifications for Marine Auxiliary Boilers". Compared with GB/T 14650-2005, this document In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope of application of the standard has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2005 edition);

b) Added "Terms and Definitions" (see Chapter 3);

c) The classification by medium has been changed and the classification by circulation mode has been deleted (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the.2005 edition);

d) The basic parameters table of auxiliary boilers has been modified (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2005 edition);

e) Added auxiliary boiler composition requirements (see 5.1.1);

f) Added environmental conditions such as ambient temperature and relative humidity (see 5.1.2.1);

g) Added the strength calculation requirements for auxiliary boilers (see 5.1.2.2);

h) The requirements for selecting the nominal diameters of auxiliary boiler heads and tube sheets have been deleted (see

4.2.1.5 of the.2005 edition);

i) Added feed water and boiler water quality requirements for auxiliary boilers (see 5.1.2.5);

j) The minimum boiler water level requirement has been changed (see 5.1.2.6,

1 Scope

GB/T 14650-2025 is the Chinese national standard on general specification for marine auxiliary boiler, in the field of shipbuilding and marine structures. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 29 August 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 March 2026. This document specifies the classification and basic parameters, requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, random documentation of marine auxiliary boilers (hereinafter referred to as boilers). The relevant test methods are described. This document is applicable to natural circulation steam boilers with a design pressure not exceeding

2.5 MPa and a working medium of water, as well as natural circulation steam boilers with a working medium of water and an outlet pressure of Design, manufacture and acceptance of hot water boilers with a temperature not exceeding 120°C.
