Scope
GB/T 14506.20-2010 is the English-translated version of 硅酸盐岩石化学分析方法 第20部分:锌量测定.
GB/T 14506.20-2010 is Part 20 of the Chinese method series for the chemical analysis of silicate rocks and gives three ways of measuring their zinc content.
It covers sodium hydroxide - ammonium chloride polarography, from 25 µg/g of zinc upwards; polarography in an ethylenediamine medium, from 20 µg/g to 2 000 µg/g; and flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry, from 5 µg/g to 200 µg/g.
For each method it fixes the principle, the reagents and their preparation, and the procedure, starting from a sample decomposed with hydrochloric, nitric and hydrofluoric acid.
Besides rocks it applies to soils and stream sediments, and it is meant for staff used to regular laboratory work. It replaces GB/T 14506.20-1993, was issued on 10 November 2010 and has applied since 1 February 2011.

--- Increasing the normative references;
--- Increased warning, warning.
This section presents the People's Republic of China Ministry of Land Resources.
1 Scope
GB/T 14506 provisions of this part of the determination of the amount of zinc silicate rocks.
This section applies to the amount of zinc silicate rocks in the determination also applies to the measurement of soil and stream sediments of zinc content.
Measurement range. sodium hydroxide - ammonium chloride polarography, 25µg/g or more of zinc content. Ethylenediamine medium polarographic method, 20µg/g ~ 2000µg/g amount of zinc. Flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry, 5µg/g ~ 200µg/g of zinc content.

Laboratory use specifications and test methods GB/T 6682 Analysis
GB/T 14506.1 Silicate rocks - Part 1: Determination of water adsorption
3 Sodium hydroxide - ammonium chloride polarography
3.1 Principle
Samples with hydrochloric acid - nitric acid - hydrofluoric acid decomposition, adding a small amount of perchloric acid, and evaporated to try to take the white smoke rush hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid. Then 3mol/L ammonia -1mol L ammonium chloride solution /, on the oscilloscope pole spectrometer, the peak potential of about -1.39V (saturated calomel electrode), derivative Reduction wave part of the determination of zinc calculated amount of zinc.
3.2 Reagents
Unless otherwise stated in this section are consistent with the use of analytical reagent and GB/T 6682 analytical laboratory use in the analysis.
3.2.1 Hydrochloric acid (rho1.19g/mL), pure class distinctions.
3.2.2 hydrochloric acid (11), pure class distinctions.
3.2.3 Nitrate (rho1.42g/mL), pure class distinctions.
3.2.4 Hydrofluoric acid (rho1.15g/mL). Warning --- toxic and corrosive hydrofluoric acid, the operation should wear gloves to prevent skin contact.
3.2.5 Perchloric acid (rho1.67g/mL), pure class distinctions. Warning --- explosive materials, careful
3.2.6 ammonia [c (NH4OH) = 7.5mol/L] - ammonium chloride [c (NH4Cl) = 2.5mol/L] - sodium sulfite (25g/L) mixturecontaining Solution. Weigh 67g of ammonium chloride and 12.5g anhydrous sodium sulfite, placed in 600mL beaker, approximately 150mL of water was added, dissolved, was added 262mL ammonia (rho0.88g/mL, pure class distinctions), diluted with water to 500mL, stir well. Plastic bottle into a dry spare.
NOTE: zinc blank test in advance. When do not meet the requirements, it should be refined before the end of the preparation of the mixed liquid. Specific steps are as follows. ammonia to 1000mL (rho0.88g/mL) was poured into a clean container (or replaced with a drier), placed in a plastic water containing 500mL beaker, stamped seal, 24h After the sodium hydroxide concentration up to about (11), followed by addition of 67g of ammonium chloride and 12.5g anhydrous sodium sulfite, stirring to dissolve. At this time a total volume of approximately 560mL, dry plastic bottle into the spare.
3.2.7 iron solution. Weigh 1.0000g spectroscopically pure ferric oxide, placed in 150mL beaker, add 5mL hydrochloric acid (3.2.1), heating After dissolution, water and transferred to 100mL volumetric flask, and dilute to the mark. This solution 1mL containing 10mg of ferric oxide.
