Scope

GB/T 14283-2008 is the English-translated version of 点焊机器人 通用技术条件.

GB/T 14283-2008 is the Chinese national general specification for spot-welding robots. It sets the technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, and it applies to spot-welding robots of every kind.

It classifies them three ways: by coordinate system, as rectangular, cylindrical, spherical or articulated; by drive, as hydraulic, pneumatic or electric; and by the way they are installed, as floor-mounted upright, tilted or suspended.

The performance figures a robot has to meet are those of its own product standard, and the clauses of this standard cover its functions, noise, electromagnetic compatibility and reliability, with the test methods aligned to GB/T 12642-2001, GB/T 5226.1-2002 and GB/Z 19397-2003.

It replaces GB/T 14283-1993, was issued on 28 July 2008 and has applied since 1 March 2009.
