Scope
GB/T 1397-2015 is the English-translated version of 化学试剂 无水碳酸钾.
GB/T 1397-2015 is a chemical reagent standard for anhydrous potassium carbonate. It covers the characters of the reagent, its specifications, tests, inspection rules, packaging, storage, transportation and marking.
It applies to the testing of anhydrous potassium carbonate as a chemical reagent, and it gives the molecular formula K2CO3 and a molecular weight of 138.20, based on the 2011 relative atomic masses.
Compared with the 1995 edition, the standard name changed from potassium carbonate to anhydrous potassium carbonate, the clarity test specification changed, the item drying loss became loss on ignition, and the sodium sampling amount was adjusted.
It was drafted under GB/T 1.1-2009. Issued on 3 July 2015 and applicable from 1 February 2016, it replaces GB/T 1397-1995.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 1397-1995 "chemical reagents potassium carbonate," compared with the GB/T 1397-1995 Technical Changes as follows.
--- Standard name "potassium" to "anhydrous potassium carbonate";
--- Clarity test specifications by a "qualified" to "2", "3", "5" (see Chapter 4, 1995, version 3.2);
--- Project name "drying loss" to "loss on ignition" (see Chapter 4, 55, 1995 edition of 3.2,4.2.3.);
--- Adjust the amount of sodium sampling measurement (see 510, 1995 version 4.2.8.);
--- Modify the determination of iron (see 514, 1995 edition of 4.2.12.);
--- Improved copper, lead two of the measuring method (see 515, 517, 1995 edition 4.2.13,4.2.15.);
--- Adjustment packaging and signs (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6, 1995 edition).
The standard reference method using redrafted ISO 6353-3. 1987 "Chemicals - Part 3. Specification 2 of the series" The R76 "carbon Potassium "preparation, and ISO 6353-3. 1987 is non-equivalent. The standard proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.
