Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 11977-2008 "Functional and Dimensional Standards for Residential Bathrooms". Compared with GB/T 11977-2008, except for the structural... Aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The definitions of "accessible restroom," "integrated restroom," "laundry unit," and "same-floor drainage" have been revised (see 3.2, 3.3, 3.8, and 3.11). (2008 editions 3.2, 3.3, 3.8, 3.10)

b) The term and definition of "integrated toilet" have been added (see 3.4);

c) The classification and labeling of residential bathrooms have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the.2008 edition);

d) The usable area index for residential bathrooms has been revised (see 5.2, 5.3, and

5.1.3 in the.2008 edition);

e) The installation dimensions for the complete bathroom have been revised and illustrations have been added (see 5.4,

5.1.4 in the.2008 edition);

f) Increased installation size requirements for integrated bathrooms (see 5.5);

g) Increased requirements for age-friendly features in residential bathrooms (see 5.6, 5.7, 5.8);

h) The facilities and configuration of the restrooms have been changed (see Chapter 6,

5.2.3 of the.2008 edition);

i) Added a series of sizes for accessible toilets and installation sizes for accessible facilities (see 7.2, 7.3.8, 7.3.9). Please note that some content in this document may involve patents. This document specifies the classification and labeling of residential bathrooms, general requirements, bathroom facility configuration, and bathroom size series. This document applies to the functional configuration and size design of bathrooms in newly built, renovated, and expanded residential buildings.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Residential bathrooms in housing A space in a residence used by residents for activities such as urination, defecation, washing, and bathing.

3.2 wheelchair-accessible bathroom Toilets are installed in accessible housing and living rooms to facilitate use by people with disabilities, the elderly, and others in need.

3.3 unitbathroom The main frame consists of a waterproof chassis, wall panels, roof panels, and supporting keel, all manufactured in a factory, and is connected to various sanitary ware, facilities, pipelines, and accessories. An independent bathroom product assembled from parts and not installed on an external wall.

3.4 Integrated bathroom The system integrates flooring, wall panels, ceilings, sanitary ware, facilities, pipelines, and accessories manufactured in the factory, and is installed using the external wall structure. The bathroom is mainly assembled using the dry construction method.

3.5 lavatory unit The space in the bathroom used for urination and defecation.

3.6 washroom unit A bathroom is a space for washing hands, face, brushing teeth, and rinsing the mouth.
