This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

This document describes a method for determining silicon in uranium ore concentrates. This document applies to the determination of silicon (calculated as silica) in uranium ore concentrates, with a determination range of 0.0050% to 3.00%.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 10268 apply to this document.

4.Principles The sample was dissolved in hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. Under low acidity conditions, fluoride ions reacted with silicate ions to form fluorosilicic acid. Excess fluoride ions were treated with aluminum ions. Masking. Fluorosilicic acid reacts with ammonium molybdate to form a silicomolybdate heteropolyacid complex ion, which is then reduced to a silicomolybdate blue complex by ferrous iron. The complex is measured at a wavelength of 650 nm. Absorbance, and based on the linear relationship between absorbance and concentration, the silica content is obtained.

5.Reagents or materials Unless otherwise specified, only reagents of superior purity conforming to national standards were used in the analysis. The water used in the tests conformed to the requirements of GB/T 6682. Level 1 water.

5.1 Hydrochloric acid, rho=1.19g/mL.

5.2 Nitric acid, rho=1.42g/mL.

5.3 Sulfuric acid, rho=1.84g/mL.

5.4 Sulfuric acid solution, phi=22%. Add 780mL of water to a beaker, slowly pour in 220mL of sulfuric acid (5.3), and stir well with a glass rod.
