Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 11372-1989 "Temporal Terminology for Rust Prevention". Compared with GB/T 11372-1989, the main differences are structural adjustments and editorial changes. Aside from the changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The terms "corrosion," "dew point," and "condensation" have been added (see 3.1.2, 3.1.14, and 3.1.15);

b) Added rust prevention pretreatment terminology (see 3.2);

c) The terms "electrostatic spraying rust-preventive oil," "degreasing agent," and "metal cleaning agent" have been added (see 3.3.18, 3.3.48, and 3.3.49);

d) The terms "neutral salt spray test", "acetic acid salt spray test", and "copper-accelerated acetic acid salt spray test" have been added (see 3.5.7,

1 Scope

GB/T 11372-2025 is the Chinese national standard on rust prevention terminology, in the field of manufacturing engineering. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. Classification: ICS 25.220.20, CCS A29.
