Scope

GB/T 10891-2025 is the English-translated version of 制冷系统及热泵 环境适应性要求.

GB/T 10891-2025 is the Chinese national standard on refrigerating systems and heat pumps - environmental adaptability requirements, in the field of energy and heat transfer engineering. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 5 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. Classification: ICS 27.200, CCS J73. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the issuing body are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 10891-1989 "Safety Requirements for Air Handling Units". Compared with GB/T 10891-1989, the main differences are in structural adjustments. Aside from integration and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The basic, general safety requirements have been removed, retaining only the requirements regarding environmental adaptability (see Chapter 5, 1989 edition). Chapters 5-8 and Chapters 10-20);

b) Added environmental categories and common testing requirements (see Chapter 4);

c) Corresponding environmental adaptability testing methods have been added (see Chapter 5);

d) Environmental parameter impact and evaluation have been added (see Chapter 6). Please note that some content in this document may involve patents. The issuing organization of this document assumes no responsibility for identifying patents. This document was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.
