Scope
GB 18361-2001 is the English-translated version of 溴化锂吸收式冷(温)水机组安全要求.
GB 18361-2001 specifies the safety requirements for lithium bromide absorption water chillers (heaters). It applies to steam and hot water type lithium bromide absorption water chillers and to direct-fired lithium bromide absorption water chillers (heaters), and other units of a similar type may follow it by reference.
After a list of mechanical, electrical, fuel-related and positioning hazards, it sets basic requirements for the unit body (sub-atmospheric operation of the refrigerant and solution side), electrical equipment (insulation resistance above 1 MOmega, operation at 90% to 110% of rated voltage), pressure parts of the generator to GB 151, warm and hot water outlet temperatures and thermal insulation.
Detailed clauses cover the combustion equipment: oil and gas piping with double shut-off valves, gas pressure regulators and limit controllers by pressure band, pipe materials and connection methods, pre-purge volumes, ignition within 7 s (oil) or 10 s (gas), extended to 15 s below 350 kW, flame-failure fuel cut-off within 4 s, flue-gas CO of at most 0.03% and requirements for supervision controllers, flame detectors, igniters, burners and fuel shut-off valves.
Clauses 4, 5 and 6 are mandatory; normative Annexes A and B and informative Annexes C and D complete it. It was based on JB 8656-1997, which it abolishes. Issued on 9 May 2001 and in force since 1 December 2001.

This standard was formulated on the basis of JB 8656-1997 Safety requirements for lithium bromide absorption water chillers (heaters), with reference to the relevant safety standards for absorption chiller-heaters of the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association.
From the date of publication of this standard, JB 8656-1997 is abolished.
Annex A and Annex B of this standard are normative annexes; Annex C and Annex D are informative annexes.
