Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document is Part 1 of GB/T 10091, "Tables of Characteristics of Things". GB/T 10091 has already published the following parts.

1.Definitions and Principles. This document replaces GB/T 10091.1-1995 "Definitions and Principles of Tables of Characteristics of Things". Compared with GB/T 10091.1-1995, except for the conclusion... Aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added the terms "characteristic identifier", "characteristic value", "characteristic table", "image", "image identifier", "preferred symbol", "characteristic block", and "characteristic". "Allocation" and its definition (see 3.5, 3.6, 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11, 3.12, 3.13);

b) The definitions of "Attributes," "Thing Attributes," "Related Attributes," "Attribute Codes," and "Object Groups" have been changed (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.7, and 3.8). (Sections 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.2, and

3.6 of the.1995 edition)

c) The terms and definitions for "Table of Item Characteristics," "List of Item Characteristics," "Figure," and "Figure Number" have been deleted (see sections 3.4, 3.5, and

3.7 of the.1995 edition). 3.8);

d) Added "Usage of Terminology" (see Chapter 4);

e) The following sections have been removed. "Information System for Transaction Characteristics," "Principles," "Description of Object Groups Associated with Images," and "Introduction of Transaction Characteristics Tables into the Standard." Five chapters and their contents, including "Revisions to the Original GB/T 10091 Series Standards" (see Chapters 4, 5, and 8 of the.1995 edition), are also included. Chapters 9 and 10);

f) Change "Structure and Composition of Item Characteristic Table" to "Structure and Design of Item Characteristic Table", and modify the corresponding content (see section 5). Chapter 6 (1995 edition);

g) The phrase "Example of the composition of the characteristic table of objects" has been changed to "Composition of the characteristic table of images objects," and the corresponding content has been modified (see Chapter 6). 1 Scope

GB/T 10091.1-2025 is the Chinese national standard on tabular layouts of article characteristic - part 1: definitions and principles, in the field of mechanical systems and components. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. Classification: ICS 21.020, CCS A40. 3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 characteristic Attributes used to describe and distinguish objects. Examples. "diameter", "length", "material".

3.2 A well-defined characteristic used to describe the differentiation of objects in a specific product category. Examples. "Minimum cutting diameter", "Total length", "Mounting diameter", "Mass", "Color".

3.3 Properties used to describe the relationship between an object and its environment. Examples. "Related Costs", "Application Scope", "Order Quantity".

3.4 Characteristic code A certain number of characters used for layout features. Examples. "A12", "A820", "B4", "D5".

3.5 A unique identifier consisting of a standard number and a characteristic code, used only to identify characteristics in a series of standards for a thing's characteristic table. Example. The characteristic code symbol consisting of the standard number GB/T 10091.1-202× and the A12 characteristic code is "GB/T 10091.1-202×-A12".

3.6 characteristic value Data used to describe a specific characteristic of a product or process. Example. Values with units, such as "9.385" or attribute data, such as "Correct".
