Scope
GB/T 10088-2018 is the English-translated version of 圆柱蜗杆模数和直径.
GB/T 10088-2018 fixes the module and the diameter of cylindrical worms, so that worm and wheel made by different shops still mesh.
It is a short dimensional standard in two substantive clauses, which its contents list names as the worm module m and the standard pitch diameter d1 of the worm, each given as a table of preferred values rather than as a calculation method.
Clause 1 states that it applies to the worms of cylindrical worm gears, and the page carries no requirement on materials, tolerances or testing, which other standards cover.

This Standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 10088-1988 "Module and diameter of cylindrical worm".
As compared with GB/T 10088-1988, the main changes of this Standard are as follows.
