Foreword

This standard is a revision of the relevant contents of GB 5991-1986, Aromatic tobacco. After this revision, GB 5991-1986 consists of two parts: this standard is Part 1, and Part 2 covers packaging, storage and transport. In addition, GB 5992-1986, Test methods for aromatic tobacco, has been revised at the same time as Part 3 of this series of standards. In technical content, this standard makes the following changes to the relevant contents of GB 5991-1986:

- normative references have been added;

- the quality provisions of the original standard have been cancelled, provisions on the types of aromatic tobacco have been added, and the corresponding technical requirements for grade quality have been given;

- the terms and designations of the original standard have been revised and are given as Annex A (normative annex);

- Clause 4, "Test methods", of the original standard and the content of GB 5992-1986 have been turned into GB/T 5991.3-2000, Aromatic tobacco - Test methods;

- Clause 5 of the original standard has been revised as "Inspection rules";

- Clause 6 of the original standard, "Packaging, marking, transport, storage and keeping", has been turned into GB/T 5991.2-2000, Aromatic tobacco - Packaging, marking, storage and transport.

This series of standards comprises:

GB/T 5991.3-2000 Aromatic tobacco - Test methods

From the date of its implementation, this standard replaces GB 5991-1986.

Annex A of this standard is a normative annex.

This standard was proposed by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration.

This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Tobacco Standardization.
