Scope

GB 5606.6-2005 is the English-translated version of 卷烟第6部分:质量综合判定.

GB 5606.6-2005 is Part 6 of the Chinese national standard series on cigarettes and specifies the method for the comprehensive quality evaluation of cigarettes; all its technical contents are mandatory.

It classifies inspection into type, factory and supervision inspection and sets out how the scores are built for packaging marking (Category A and B defects, per GB 5606.2), packaging and making quality (Category A, B and C defects with unit deduction values in Tables 1 to 3, lot rejected below 60 points), sensory quality (minimum scores of 85, 75 and 60 by price class) and mainstream smoke indicators, where tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide yields are graded and the tolerance between measured and declared values on the packet decides the score.

The total quality score is Z = 0.05 a + 0.25 b + 0.35 c + 0.25 d + 0.05 e + 0.05 f, and Annex A (normative) gives the summary table of inspection results. It replaces GB 5606.6-1996, adding the classification of inspection, modifying the method for judging a lot non-conforming and adjusting the total score formula.

Foreword

GB 5606, Cigarettes, is divided into six parts:

- Part 1: Sampling;

- Part 2: Packaging marking;

- Part 3: Technical requirements for packaging and making, and storage and transport;

- Part 4: Technical requirements for sensory evaluation;

- Part 5: Mainstream smoke;

- Part 6: Comprehensive quality evaluation.

This part is Part 6 of GB 5606.

All technical contents of this part are mandatory.

This part replaces GB 5606.6-1996, Cigarettes - Comprehensive quality evaluation.

Compared with GB 5606.6-1996, the main changes of this part are as follows:

- the classification of inspection has been added;

- the method for judging a lot as non-conforming has been modified;

- the formula for calculating the total quality score has been adjusted.

Annex A of this part is normative.
