This document specifies the general requirements, identification and classification, and safety measures for the identification and management of densely populated, high-consequence areas along long-distance onshore oil and gas pipelines. This document applies to onshore petroleum (including crude oil, refined petroleum products, and liquefied petroleum gas) and natural gas (including natural gas, coalbed methane, and coal-to-gas).
