1 Scope

GB 46765-2025 is the Chinese national standard on basic safety technical requirements of gas transmission and distribution equipment, in the field of construction materials and building. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. This document specifies the basic safety technical requirements for the market launch, engineering construction, and commissioning of gas transmission and distribution equipment. This document applies to the basic safety and quality control of gas transmission and distribution equipment.

Note. Gas transmission and distribution equipment in this document includes purification equipment, heat exchange equipment, pressure regulating equipment (flow/pressure control equipment), gasification equipment, gas mixing equipment, and metering equipment. Equipment, valves, pipes and components, odorization devices, safety protection devices, monitoring and control devices, etc., hereinafter referred to as "gas equipment".

4 Market launch, engineering construction, and commissioning

4.1 Gas appliances shall be designed and manufactured in accordance with this document, installed correctly and used within the intended scope.

4.2 Gas equipment and its accessories and spare parts shall be designed and manufactured in accordance with relevant standards and specifications, and may only be put into use after inspection and certification proving that they conform to the declared product standards. 4.7 If a gas appliance is proven to have a defect that endangers personal health or property safety during normal use, it should not have the same defect. The products will continue to be launched on the market and distributed.
