1 Scope

GB 41847-2022 is the Chinese national standard on technical requirements of lightning protection and earthing in ports, in the field of services and company organization. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 31 August 2022 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 March 2023. Classification: ICS 03.220.40, CCS R09. This document specifies the general requirements for port lightning protection and grounding, port towers, port outdoor loading and unloading equipment, oil and gas chemical terminals, port hazards Technical requirements for lightning protection and grounding of special cargo yards and silos, as well as technical requirements for lightning protection devices. This document is applicable to the construction of lightning protection and grounding of buildings (structures) and equipment and facilities in ports.
