Scope
GB 34459-2017 is the English-translated version of 饲料添加剂 硫酸铜.
GB 34459-2017 specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labelling, packaging, transport, storage and shelf life of the feed additives copper sulphate monohydrate (CuSO4·H2O) and copper sulphate pentahydrate (CuSO4·5H2O), and applies to products made by etching solution recovery or by high-temperature roasting of scrap red copper.
Both forms must contain at least 98.5% copper sulphate, with at least 35.7% copper for the monohydrate and 25.1% for the pentahydrate; the limits are 4 mg/kg total arsenic, 5 mg/kg lead, 0.1 mg/kg cadmium, 0.2 mg/kg mercury and 0.5% water-insoluble matter, and at least 95% must pass a 200 µm sieve (monohydrate) or an 800 µm sieve (pentahydrate).
The test methods cover identification of copper and sulphate ions, iodometric titration of copper sulphate and copper with sodium thiosulphate, arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury by the referenced feed methods, gravimetric water-insoluble matter and sieve fineness.
Batches are limited to 60 t, factory inspection covers copper, arsenic, lead and cadmium, type inspection is carried out at least every six months, and the shelf life is 12 months; Clauses 1, 3 and 5 are mandatory.
