Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 19635-2005 "Long-staple cotton". Compared with GB/T 19635-2005, except for structural adjustment and editing, in addition to the changes in performance, the main technical changes are as follows.

--- Changed the terms and definitions of hazardous debris (see 3.9, 3.8 of the 2005 edition);

--- Changed the length provisions (see 4.2, 6.2 of the 2005 edition);

--- Changed the micronaire value classification (see 4.3, 6.3 of the 2005 edition);

--- Changed the fracture strength quality requirements (see 4.6, 6.1.3 of the 2005 edition);

--- Increased foreign fiber content of baled cotton (see 4.7.2);

--- Changed sampling (see Chapter 5, Chapter 7 of the 2005 edition);

--- Increased foreign fiber sampling (see 5.3.3);

--- Added GB/T 20392 cotton fiber physical properties test test content (see 6.1.2.4, 6.1.3.1, 6.1.3.2, 6.1.5.1);

--- Changed the content of foreign fiber inspection (see 6.1.4, 8.1.4 of the 2005 edition);

--- Deleted the definition and calculation method of standard weight and seed cotton standard weight lint percentage (see 3.4, 3.6, 8.2.3.2, 8.2.3.3, 2005 edition) 8.2.4.4, 8.2.4.5);

--- Deleted the picking, drying, storage and sale of seed cotton (see Chapter 4 of the 2005 edition);

--- Deleted seed cotton purchase and processing (see Chapter 5 of the 2005 edition);

--- Deleted the reference indicators of grade conditions (see 6.1.3, 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 of the 2005 edition).

1 Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions related to long-staple cotton, and stipulates quality requirements, inspection rules, inspection certificates, packaging and marking, storage and transportation, and describes the corresponding sampling and inspection methods.

This document applies to the production, acquisition, processing, trade, storage and use of long-staple cotton.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Grade

A comprehensive indicator of cotton's quality grade, including maturity, color characteristics and processing quality.

Main body grade cottonmodalgrade when inspected by lot, it is the grade that accounts for 80% or more of the lot, with the remaining grades only adjacent to it.

gross weight

The sum of the weight of cotton and its packaging.

Net weight

The gross weight is the weight after deducting the weight of the packaging.
