Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB 18093-2000 "Logbook". Compared with GB 18093-2000, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes, In addition, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The contents of the logbook have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 8 of the.2000 edition);

b) The requirements for recording in the logbook have been changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4 of the.2000 edition);

c) The requirements for the retention of logbooks have been changed (see Chapter 6, Chapter 5 of the.2000 edition);

d) The provisions on the preparation, registration and issuance of logbooks have been deleted (see Chapter 6 of the.2000 edition);

e) The format and layout requirements of the logbook have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the.2000 edition);

f) The font size and font requirements for the logbook cover have been changed, and "working language" and "printing basis" have been added (see Table 5,.2000 edition). Table 12);

g) The types of weather phenomena and their symbols have been changed, and "rain showers and snow" and "unobservable" have been added (see Table A.1,.2000 edition). Table 9);

h) The corresponding values of wind force level, wave level and cloud type have been modified (see Table A.3 to Table A.5, Table 6, Table 7 and Table 8 of the.2000 edition). Table 10);

i) The format and layout of the logbook cover have been changed, with the addition of "working language" and "printing basis" (see Figure B.1,.2000 edition). Figure 1);

j) Changed the "arrival date" to "employment date" and "departure date" to "dismissal date" in the "captain and driver dynamic table format" (see Figure B.3, Table 2 of the.2000 edition);

k) Changed the "class symbol" to "ship type", "launch date" to "completion date", "passenger "Quota/Crew Quota" is "Passenger Quota/Industrial Personnel Quota/Crew Quota", "Oil Tank Capacity" is "Fuel Tank Capacity" (see Figure B.5, Table 4 of the.2000 edition);

1 Scope

GB 18093-2025 is the Chinese national standard on deck log book, in the field of services and company organization. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 25 April 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026.
